Update from Johnny Inkslinger

Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at 8:47pm

Hey everyone, its Johnny Inkslinger here, you know, Paul Bunyan’s Bookkeeper. I keep all the books balanced and supplies running to and from the Old Onion River Mining Camp during the time we are not in Brainerd. But I tell you what.. it is nice to be back.

We had a great winter this year at the logging Camp. Paul, Babe, Sport, Ole the Blacksmith and myself all took off right after Labor day last year so we could get there before the snow got to deep. Well we made it. We worked our butts off and it was a great year. From all of our heavy work this year Babe built up a little muscle. Yup that is right, he is different that what you may have seen him before. There will be photos added to our website soon showing the transformation from what he was to what he is now. He looks great.

On our way back since we got done a little bit early we decided to go visit some of our friends up in Northern Minnesota for a week or so. Looking back, that probably was not the best idea. We had setup a place outside for babe and sport to play around in. One day while Babe and Sport were getting a little rough outside and wrestling they knocked over Babes water dish. Now that is what you call a mess. I don’t think we will be welcomed back to the Fargo area again for a while.

When we left last year, we heard the people at the park were planning some pretty cool stuff and had even poured a slab for something they are calling the haunted house. And from what I heard from Henry the Squirrel they had that building partially done and open in time for the Haunted Season in October. 4 Weeks, now that is what I call moving right along, I now know who to call if we are getting a little behind on our logging.

Some of the other things we noticed right away when we got there was that the owners of the park have expanded and added 4 new rides; Frog Hopper, Flight Commander, Climbing wall & Hampton Ride. It is going to be one great year. Paul was just telling me the other day that he cannot wait to see all of his friends again this year he misses each and everyone of you. If you get curious about what is going on and the things that are changing around the park, check out the NEW website.. Yup, that’s right, it’s a new website and a new URL (you know that thing that starts with a www. ) . Come check us out at www.PaulBunyanLand.com . The site is still being worked on as we speak so come back often for photo updates, special deals, new web features & coupons.

Hope to see you all this summer at Paul Bunyan Land, we open this Memorial weekend Saturday at 10am…
